The Model 35MD is a purpose-built plant trailer designed to transport tracked machines up to 2775kg within the maximum legal gross weight of 3500kg. Fabricated with a one-piece heavy-duty, hot-dipped galvanised steel chassis with integral welded steel mudguards, the 35MD is built to handle the toughest plant transport demands day after day. Supplied without a spare wheel as standard to keep unladen weight to a minimum, allowing the heaviest possible machines to be carried legally. For wheeled machines, we recommend the TP range.
Many special trailers have been manufactured based on the 35MD to transport all types of equipment, including lighter versions for tracked stone crushers and hydraulic tilt variants for scissor-type access platforms or sweeping machines with minimum ground clearance. Please contact us if your combination of trailer and load weighs less than 3500kg – we would be pleased to quote for your requirements.
Please note: Trailers in excess of 3500kg gross weight require power braking, must be added to your operator’s licence, and require an annual HGV test.

If the optional extended body length (3600mm) is specified, the unladen weight increases to 770kg, reducing the payload to 2730kg. With the open centre floor and separate hinged ramps option, the unladen weight reduces to 665kg, giving a maximum payload of 2835kg.
What types of machines can the 35MD transport?
The 35MD is designed for tracked machines up to 2775kg, including mini excavators, tracked dumpers, rollers, and tracked stone crushers. For wheeled machines, we recommend the TP range. A hydraulic tilt option is also available for scissor-type access platforms and sweeping machines with minimum ground clearance.
Does the 35MD require overrun brakes?
Yes. At 3500kg gross weight, the 35MD is fitted with overrun brakes as required by law. Please note that trailers exceeding 3500kg gross weight require power braking, must be added to your operator’s licence, and require an annual HGV test.
Is this trailer FREE Service and FREE delivery?
Yes if in the geographical area of Southern Scotland and Cumbria. The free labour only service must be taken within 24 months of purchase.
What is the ramp approach angle?
The 35MD is fitted with a heavy-duty full-width gas-assisted ramp door with an 18-degree approach angle, suitable for all types of tracked machines including rollers.
Can the body length or width be extended?
Yes. The body length can be extended from the standard 3000mm to 3600mm for £300.00 ex. VAT (note this increases unladen weight to 770kg). Additional body width options (1525mm, 1670mm, 1820mm max) are also available for £300.00 ex. VAT. See the Product Add-Ons section for details.
Why does the 35MD not come with a spare wheel as standard?
The spare wheel is omitted as standard to keep the unladen weight as low as possible, allowing the maximum legal payload of 2775kg to be carried within the 3500kg gross weight limit. A spare wheel and carrier (195-50 x 13) is available as an optional add-on for £150.00 ex. VAT.
What coupling type does the 35MD use?
The 35MD is supplied with a lockable 50mm ball coupling as standard. A pin type hitch is available as a free option – please specify at the time of order.
Is the 35MD road legal?
Yes. The 35MD is supplied with a full road lighting system and meets legal requirements for road use up to 3500kg gross weight. Trailers exceeding 3500kg require power braking, an operator’s licence entry, and an annual HGV test.
